Created by blending Washi paper with kumazasa fibres, these bathmats are a joyful and functional addition to any home. Kumazasa is naturally antibacterial and when combined with Washi paper, the resulting fabric becomes soft and durable, absorbing twice as much water as a plain cotton.

These mats can also be used in other aspects of the home, such as a door mat, pet mat, even a car seat protector, keeping out the heat for long drives. The fabric does not produce lint, making it easy to clean and maintain, as well as being machine-washable.
SASAWASHI fabric is made by blending Kumazasa fibres; grown in the cool highlands of Japan, with Washi paper. Washi is strong, durable and water-resistant used in traditional Shoji slidding doors keeping homes cool in summer and warm in winter. A sheet of these blended fibres is then slit into long strings of yarn, twisted together to machine weave or knit SASAWASHI yarn and fabric.
